Usually, anthologies gather stories of the same genre into a collection, but when the stories are embedded within a greater story the result is a delight.

Movie description:
The Mortuary Collection is a 2019 American supernatural horror anthology. The movie was written and directed by Ryan Spindell who also directed The Babysitter Murders (released in 2015) that was afterward incorporated in the Mortuary Collection.
Synopsis:
The story is about an old mortician, Montgomery Dark, who hires a young woman named Sam to work at Raven’s End Mortuary. As the young woman gets acquainted with the mortuary, she and Montgomery start exchanging the tales of horror that led to the death of some of the clients of the mortuary. Soon enough Sam will discover that there is something quite paranormal about the mortuary and that her life may never be the same again.
Praises and critiques:
The Mortuary Collection was a great supernatural horror anthology that kept me captivated from the beginning to the end. The movie was funny and somewhat scary with four good short stories. I think the fact that the stories were all in the universe of Raven’s End and that they all coalesce in a single story was so original and unpredictable.
Furthermore, the quality of the film was excellent as well as the cast, who did a terrific job. Not to mention, that the visual effects were pretty good and include a lot of gory scenes.
Recommendations:
This movie will surely charm all horror fans.
Rating:
I give the Mortuary Collection a solid 4.5 stars because it was funny, gory, and original. I wanted to give it 5 stars because I would have liked it to be scarier.
I’m a big fan of horror movies like this that are heavy on charm as much as they are on suspense. I also love anthology films. I’ll be checking this out.

I’m not much of a horror movie person, but my best friend would probably love this!

I think I know some people who would love the suspense in this movie. A good mystery is always interesting.

I feel like this would be a horror movie that might really unnerve me! My brother would totally be into this, though.

This sounds really interesting – it’s not something I’ve heard of before. The cover makes me think that it’s more ‘middle grade’ but still looks quite interesting and one that I’ll hopefully pick up 🙂

Creepy and fabulous horror which I have ever seen. All the stories are unique and interesting with mixed neuropsychology. Great review!

Creative, refreshing, genuine horror mixed with some ‘laugh out loud’ comedy where I wasn’t expecting it.

Not really a fan of horror films but I watch from time to time. However, I am not sure if I would like to be more scarier that you thought of. Haha! Let’s see after I watch the movie.

I’m not really a fan of horror movies anymore, I used to be though but time and chance happened. This seems like a cool collection.

I love horror movies but strangely, I don’t think I’ve ever seen an horror anthology. The Mortuary sounds like a great place to start. Good review!
